present constituted as follows:

Of these Mr. Suffiad understands Chinese

quite as well as he does Hindustan, and I therefore propose that the services of Mr. Hung Kan-ning may be dispensed with

and Mr. Suffiad interpret in his place on an increased salary.

Mr. Nolan interprets the Chin chew

dialect quite as well as Mr. Lyk Chau-po if not better. I propose
